Your genuine joy—which is rooted in Christ—is a sure sign of the presence of God in your life. As a child of God, you have some great reasons to be joyful.
Reason #1—Your joy is permanent. Because your joy is rooted in your all-loving and unchanging God, it is permanent. In John 16:22, Jesus said that “no one will take your joy away from you.”
Reason #2—Your joy is always available. Since it is rooted in your faithful and ever-present God, your joy is always available. Whatever your circumstances, you can “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4)!
Reason #3—Your joy is supernatural (1 Peter 1:8). You cannot explain why we can experience joy when nothing in our life suggests we should be joyful. You might not understand the “why,” but you can understand that God is the source of your joy.
