Where does God have you today? What roles and responsibilities have been given you by your Lord? And how about your dreams—and your heart’s desires? Many of these indicate God’s directions for your life.
Take some time to discover what the Bible says about your roles… and then pray about them. Why not jot down some dreams you have too? Write them down in your Bible, your prayer book, a personal journal, or a special notebook dedicated to dreaming and planning and doing as you become a woman after God’s own heart.
Jesus knew all about how difficult life would be on this fallen planet. He’s already provided exactly what you need. First and foremost, Jesus offers forgiveness to all who place their trust in Him. Your sins, past, present, and future were forgiven because Jesus bore them for you on the cross (Romans 5:1,5,9). He conquered the power that sin has over us when He rose from the dead (Romans 5:21 and 8:2).
Jesus also assured that believers were provided a “Helper,” the Holy Spirit. Jesus first mentioned the promised Helper to His disciples after they were saddened when He told them He would soon leave. To encourage them, He said, “It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart I will send Him to you” (John 16:7).
The Holy Spirit would be there to guide, direct, and motivate them just as Jesus had when He was physically present on this earth. As a final assurance that He wasn’t leaving the disciples without the resources they needed to serve Him, Jesus promised, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8).
God’s road to success is quite simple: As you faithfully follow Him with all your heart and are obedient to fulfill His will for you, you will be blessed. His goals for you are achievable because of the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit. You can enjoy success. Yes, you’re human, and you will have moments when you fail, slide back, fall down, or stay in one place for a while. But as you rely on God and do what He asks of you through His Word and prayer, He will give you the desire and confidence-and power-to move on and enjoy life in Him.
Thank you, Lord, for your presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. Help me to rely on You and Your Word for success. Amen.
