Finding Friends

As a Christian, you have a perfect friendship in Jesus Christ. God’s Son, Jesus, chose you to be His friend. Just as with His disciples, Jesus says about you: “You are My friends…I have called you friends” (John 15:14-15). With Jesus as your friend, you really don’t need anyone else.

When our children are growing up in our home, we seek to train their spiritual sensitivity so they can “distinguish good from evil” (Hebrews 5:14). We examine what’s going on in our home. We desire to protect them from ungodly influences and dangers. Then they leave the nest.

The word “work” is mentioned over 350 times in the Bible. It is clear from God’s work that you and I work at something in life. And whatever career we choose to pursue, or feel called to accomplish, will most likely require hard work to be successful.

Looking Forward to the Future

DEVOTION: This is normally the time of year every high school, college, and grad student looks forward to; a commencement ceremony to celebrate and applaud their years of diligence and hard work. This year the activities may look a little different, but there are some things that remain the same.
