This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
(John 15:12)
As children of God, you and I are commanded to live and show the kind of love we see modeled by our heavenly Father and His Son. And exactly how has Jesus loved us? And what does the kind of love we’re supposed to extend to people look like? We find answers to these questions when we turn to God and His Word. After all, God is love and God is the source of all love! He calls us to:
Walk in love (Ephesians 5:2)
Love one another (John 15:12)
Love our husbands and our children (Titus 2:4)
Love our neighbor (Matthew 22:39)
Love our enemies (Luke 6:27)
Scripture also teaches that “God is love” (1 John 4:8) and that God’s Son Jesus Christ loved us and “gave Himself up for us [as] an offering” (Ephesians 5:2). We also see love’s supremacy when Paul places it first on his list of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).
Who needs your love—God’s love—today?

Several years ago, while teaching a series entitled “The Wise Homemaker,” I asked a hundred women, “What keeps you from getting your housework done?” There were four main answers: poor use of time, lack of motivation, failure to plan, and procrastination. These reasons make perfect sense to me, and I can certainly relate to all four of these answers.

“I used to be so confident. But now I feel like such a loser.” Do you feel this way? My God never asks for us to have confidence in ourselves. He only asks that we have confidence in Him! And when God commands, He also supplies. This is true for every area of your Christian life. You can get up every day, go to your closet, and select the spiritual clothes you’ll wear for the day. Here’s a partial description of God’s approved wardrobe.
