Three Ways to Make It Through Every Day

I’m sure your days and weeks are long and hard and full. Yet three practices will help you make it through each day. They also cause you to look for and find God’s blessings strewn along your path.

  1. Focus on the end. Focus on the overarching end purposes for which you live each day—to serve the Lord, serve your loved ones, and serve the people in your life. Those purposes are the reason for all you do and dream of accomplishing.
  2. Recall at the end of each day all that was done and achieved. It’s easy to berate yourself for what was not done and forget to give thanks to God for what was done. With an eye on the day’s blessings—instead of its failures—you will clearly see God’s grace, appreciate His enablement, recognize the wisdom He gave you along the way…and celebrate the triumphant joy of leaning on Him through the variety of trials you encountered.
  3. Thank God for your trials.God uses each day’s trials to produce perseverance in His people. Trials work patience into your character. They lead to steadfastness and develop endurance, enabling you to make it through every day with grace. As James 1:3 states: The testing of your faith produces patience.

Finding God’s Path Through Your Trials discusses the hard times we all face and reveals how you can “count it all joy.” Elizabeth George reminds you that God won’t give you trials you cannot bear without including a way of escape. By turning to Jesus, you will find hope, joy, and meaning in your journey, no matter how bumpy it seems.

Do you have a favorite place that ministers peace to your soul? Years ago, Jim and I had a place we loved to retreat, a pleasant 45-minute drive from our home. What drew us there? Well, there was an expanse of the Pacific Ocean and its never-ceasing surf. We loved to walk along its sandy shore.
