All creation yearns for that wonderful day when Jesus returns to right all wrongs and heal the ravages of sin. We’re on our way to eternity, but until then, you and I face all the challenges of being in the world today. So how do we best live in the shadow of eternity? God reminds us in 1 Peter 4:8 that His number-one priority for His people is to love: “Above all things, have fervent love for one another.” This leaves no doubt about who you are and what you’re to focus on and do. And the only way we can love beyond human limits is by loving with the heart of Jesus.
With the heart of Christ, be aware of your responsibilities to God’s People. Love as a good steward of the amazing grace God has given to you. God wants your life and love to be centered on Him and His people, not on things of this world. His call is to love, to lodge, and to look out for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
