When I ask a woman who’s enjoying an energetic life and ministry how she does it, I cringe every time I hear those two dreaded words—diet and exercise.
We’re told in the Bible that how we manage our body affects our ministries and the quality of our lives. The apostle Paul put it this way: “I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27).
If your goal is a quality of life filled with quality days of serving the Lord, His people, and your family, attention to your body is key!
Father, because I want to be a good steward of the body You have given me to take care of and to serve You with, I want to pay more attention to my health. I’m going to start exercising in some way and eating more nutritious foods. Please watch over me and guard my health. I want to present my body to You as a living sacrifice—for Your use, Your service, and Your purposes. Amen.
